This checks price and three specifications, not listening quality, call performance, noise-cancellation strength or comfort. Manufacturer battery tests differ and are maximums, not guarantees.

Four models. The differences that matter.
| Exact earbud model | Stated listening time | Wireless case charging | Fit approach |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sony WF-1000XM52023 model | Up to 8 hours, ANC on | Included | Noise-isolation tips |
| Sony WF-1000XM62026 model | Up to 8 hours, ANC on | Included | Noise-isolation tips |
| Bose Ultra Earbuds (1st Gen)2023 model | Up to 6 hours; 4 with Immersive Audio | Separate cover needed | Silicone tips + stability bands |
| Bose Ultra Earbuds (2nd Gen)2025 model | Up to 6 hours; 4 with Immersive Audio | Included | Silicone tips + stability bands |
Sony and Bose use different battery test conditions. Bose’s 6-hour figure has Immersive Audio off. A specification cannot predict comfort or real-world runtime.
Avoid these naming traps
- Sony WF means earbuds; WH means over-ear headphones. “XM5” alone is not enough to identify a listing.
- Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds, Ultra Earbuds (2nd Gen), and QuietComfort Earbuds II are different products. Check the full name, not just a picture.
- A cheaper listing may be renewed, used, an accessory or a single replacement earbud. Confirm a complete pair, case, seller and return policy.
How the starting point is chosen
First, we check your three selected requirements against the manufacturer specifications. If both models meet them and you enter both prices, we suggest starting with the cheaper one. If neither meets them, we say so. This is a shortlist—not a universal winner. Updated microphones, noise cancellation, fit and device compatibility may justify paying more; compare the sources and try the fit. Commission rates never enter this calculation.
